Livestock production specifically Dairy farming is one of the areas where Meru,Tharaka-Nithi and Embu County residents invest in for employment and as a source of livelihood .

Given that most of these areas are dry , farmers tend to be limited in the farming activities that they practice. Our members who have been practicing farming have effectively benefited from our member-centric programs.

For instance, members who are also farmers from the highlighted regions  have been engaging in table banking activities in order to boost their level of farming:purchasing farm machineries and equipments such as chaffcutter ,tractors, horse pipes; for irrigation in order to grow foliage to feed their animals.

Apart from purchasing farm equipments, they have been educated on several ways of ensuring that they maximumly benefit from their farming activities such as using animal droppings in organic farming which is environmental friendly thereby encouraging sustainable agricultural practices.

With such an approach, land as a factor of production is always kept in a productive state so long as there is someone who is ready to work on it and seek support where need be .
